HPWWI Celebrates 150+ Graduates, Empowering the Future of India's Manufacturing Sector
The Hettich Poddar Wood Working Institute (HPWWI) recently marked a significant milestone by felicitating over 150 graduates at its annual ceremony in Howrah.
This event commemorates not just the academic achievements of the 2024-2025 batch, but also HPWWI ‘s pivotal role in addressing skill gaps in India’s evolving manufacturing and design sectors.
In collaboration with the Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD), HPWWI has empowered students from across West Bengal, many of whom happen to be first-generation learners, with industry-ready skills in woodworking, furniture fittings, and employability.
The institute, part of a CSR initiative by Hettich India, has already seen over 90% of its graduates secure placements, with many joining Hettich India and its extensive partner network. With the current batch boasting an impressive placement rate of 70%, HPWWI successfully continues to shape the future of India’s furniture and interior solutions industry.
“HPWWI is not just about careers, it’s about creating skilled professionals who contribute to the nation’s design and manufacturing ecosystem,” said Mr. Amit Prasad, Director of HPWWI & CHRO, Hettich India.
HPWWI stands out with its blend of technical training and soft skills development, including hands-on experience with modern machines and financial literacy sessions. Through collaborations with government ITIs, HPWWI has modernized vocational education, ensuring that graduates are not only job-ready but equipped to thrive in today’s competitive market.
As the institute continues to grow with centres in Faridabad and Mumbai, it remains dedicated to its mission of steady skill development, employability, and inclusive growth, contributing to national initiatives like Skill India and Make in India.
This ceremony marks another step in HPWWI’s journey as a beacon of excellence in vocational training and empowerment.
It’s exciting to see how this milestone event in Howrah will inspire the next generation of craftsmen and designers, ready to contribute to a stronger, more self-reliant India. Looking ahead, HPWWI’s mission to train thousands more over the coming years promises even greater opportunities for young Indians to carve out careers that are both fulfilling and impactful.
